Civic Leadership Course
Advanced Course in Civic Leadership

Program duration: April 2006 – February 2007
Target-group: Young potential leaders and grass-rout activists

The first and only Civic Leadership Program in the region and in Moldova. The program gathers the experience of the best Moldovan and world organizations and personalities that are involved in civic leadership. The course is designed to obtain practical results and offers informations from a practical perspective.

The program offers you the following modules:

  • Foundations of Civic Leadership
  • Personal Capacities in Civic Leadership
  • Professional Capacities in Civic Leadership
  • Democratic Leadership (Ethical Leadership and Leader-Fellow relations)
  • Leadership Development: Coaching and Mentoring
  • Civic Leadership in Organizations

The participants will have a real chance to practice civic leadership for implementing social changes, will have the possibilities to communicate with the best experts in Moldova, will became a part of a community of people motivated for social democratic change. Course participants will have the possibility to improve the personal and professional capacities.

Course advantages:

  • The course is structured by modules;
  • Practical sessions facilitate the experience exchange between people and skills development;
  • Interactive teaching strategies will be used, based on the “learning by doing” principle;
  • Consultants with solid practical experience and academic background in Republic of Moldova, Romania and West;
  • Flexible study format, adjusted for the necessities and agenda of people that work or study;
  • At the end of the course trainees will receive Participation Certificates.

Participants will benefit from a complex service package:

Course format:

  • The course is structured by modules;
  • Every modules has a knowledge transfer sessions and a practical abilities development session;
  • The participants will dedicate approximately a day every 1-2 weeks (with a small vacation during summer);
  • Periods during sessions are dedicated to individual work, home themes accomplishment, accomplishment of individual plans of personal and professional development.

Methodology:

  • Study case analyzes;
  • Role plays and simulations;
  • Educational films viewing;
  • Personal and professional development plan accomplishment;
  • Neuro-Linguistic Programming elements;
  • Outdoor activities;
  • Discussions with experts in the field.

The costs: The costs directly related to study process will be covered by the program (travel, lodging etc. are not covered)
