Study on the Media Market and Access to Mass Media in the Left Bank Region of the Republic of Moldova / 2011

This study contains an analysis of the media market in the left bank region of the Republic of Moldova for 2011, presenting major broadcast and print media outlets. The study also covers the access of the main ethnic groups in the region to the media. The study was prepared by using quantitative and qualitative research methods of the investigative type.

The data used in this study were collected through direct observations during 6 visits to the region (namely visits to post offices, kiosks, media outlets) in cities such as Tiraspol, Bender, Dubasari Ribnita. A number of unstructured interviews were conducted with journalists working in the region, representing various media outlets (those financed from the local budget, private media, and the NGO media).
