Promoting a law prohibiting propaganda of homosexuality contravenes constitutional norms of a democratic state. Those who promote this initiative are willing to create an image of defenders of national values and cultivate some personal benefits. This the opinion of CreDO director Sergiu Ostaf, inform IPN.
Sergiu Ostaf said during a press conference at the IPN, that taking the example of the Russian Federation and Ukraine, where was passed a law prohibiting propaganda of homosexuality is contrary to European standards. "Many people in Moldova are speculating on the subject in order to increase the own position of the true people of the nation. According to Ostaf, it tries to extend on the entire society the rules of the conservative-religious part of it and violate the secular notion of the state, he said Sergiu Ostaf.
CreDO director said that by promoting laws prohibiting propaganda of homosexuality might be violated EU rules of formulation of laws in terms of predictability and the concrete impact that could create it. He believes that by this are cultivated are cultivated extremes relationships in society. These actions come to guide public opinion on some issues that are not characteristic of our societies.
"There are people who have a different sexual orientation than heterosexual and these people have the right to self-determination. By the time these people come out in public and talk about more rights violations they are actually follow some democratic values and can not be constrained by some challenges", specified the Director of CReDO.
Sergiu Ostaf stressed that the issue of sexual minorities is a sensitive issue, because it affects people's privacy. In turn, individuals who promote conservative ideas against these people are often in conflict with the law and will create a platform for growing the company and projected lack of information and education regarding these topics.
